Hello, I am Tim Martin
Tim believes that even though student and families have tasks to complete and important decisions to make during the college admission process, with guidance and planning, it can be a pleasant and exciting experience for all! Though his family roots run deep in the South, Tim was raised in Princeton, NJ. After graduating from high school Tim headed south to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, where he was selected for a Church and Campus Scholarship and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History. During his undergraduate years, he served as a Resident Assistant, played on the Division II golf team, and even managed the college’s radio station. His career in higher education began when he joined the Admissions team at Eckerd, but his desire to learn more about the profession eventually brought him to Florida State University. At FSU, he received a Melvene Hardee Center Fellowship and he earned his Master in Science in Higher Education Administration degree. Deeply passionate about the value of higher education and providing assistance to students and parents through what can seem to be a daunting process, Tim has served as a leader in admissions, advising, orientation, scholarship review, financial aid advisement, and student development roles at a variety of selective colleges and universities (Furman University and Centenary College of Louisiana) along with open access institutions (Greenville Technical College, Florida State College of Jacksonville, and Trident Technical College). For over 30 years, Tim has provided clarification and assistance to students/parents as they navigate college preparation, selection, admission, and enrollment processes. His greatest fulfillment comes when an educational plan is created, the ‘right’ collegiate community is identified, and students flourish.
