“Thanks to the guidance from Chris and the SAT prep with Miles and George, I raised my score from around 1000 to 1230 and got accepted to all five schools I applied to: Ole Miss, Clemson, Citadel, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. They helped me build a strong college application. So, a huge shout out to them, especially Mr. Chris Parsons. ”

FAQ

Have questions about planning for college?
You’re not alone.

From SAT exam practice tests to ACT test preparation and diagnostic assessments, families often wonder how to choose the right path for boosting scores. Our FAQ section addresses the most common concerns we hear from students and parents, offering clear, expert guidance on topics like standardized testing strategies, elite SAT prep, and test preparation courses—helping your student feel confident and fully prepared for test day.

However, a general rule of thumb is to start preparing for the test at least 3-6 months in advance. If you're planning to take the SAT in the spring of your junior year, it's a good idea to start studying during the summer before your junior year if possible.

The average SAT score is around 1050, so if your score is higher than that, it's above average. A score of 1350 or higher is in the top 10% of SAT test takers. Even if your score is lower than you'd like it to be, there are many amazing colleges and universities around the world looking for students like you.

Getting a 1200 on the SAT is not considered extremely difficult, as it falls in the above-average range, but it does require consistent preparation for most people. Whether it is "hard" depends on your starting point and how much you study, but it is an achievable score for many with focused effort. A 1200 is above the national average and competitive for many universities.

You're an eligible candidate for an okay number of schools, falling just short of the national average score. California State University–Fresno, Manchester University, and Lynn University are among the schools where a 1000 SAT score may fit your target category.

The average price for SAT lessons is £15 per hour, but rates vary by experience and location. Advanced or specialized tutoring may cost more, while beginners might charge less.

Good SAT tutors help students improve scores and also teach effective study skills. With a strong tutor, students can learn smarter strategies that improve school performance overall.

A perfect 800 on SAT Math is extremely rare, usually achieved by less than 1% of test-takers. It places you in the 99th percentile.

Neither is strictly harder. The ACT is faster-paced and includes a science section. The SAT has more analytical questions and gives slightly more time per question. The best test depends on your strengths.

Yes, calculators are allowed on the ACT Math section as long as they are not on the prohibited list. All problems can still be solved without one.

No. An 800 is well below average (1050–1100) and typically falls in the 8th–11th percentile, competitive only for a small selection of colleges or community colleges.
