“Thanks to the guidance from Chris and the SAT prep with Miles and George, I raised my score from around 1000 to 1230 and got accepted to all five schools I applied to: Ole Miss, Clemson, Citadel, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. They helped me build a strong college application. So, a huge shout out to them, especially Mr. Chris Parsons. ”

FAQ

Have questions about planning for college?
You’re not alone.

From SAT exam practice tests to ACT test preparation and diagnostic assessments, families often wonder how to choose the right path for boosting scores. Our FAQ section addresses the most common concerns we hear from students and parents, offering clear, expert guidance on topics like standardized testing strategies, elite SAT prep, and test preparation courses—helping your student feel confident and fully prepared for test day.

Take Practice Tests the Right Way. When it comes to studying for the ACT and SAT, there is one technique that everyone agrees on: take several practice tests before taking the real test. Take a practice test to determine your baseline and what you need to study. Take practice tests routinely.

SAT Private tutoring is a great way to maximize score improvements on the SAT. The students who score between 600 and 700 often see an increase of 150 - 250 points when they take lessons from an experienced private tutor

How long should I study for the SAT to get a 1500? Most students need 3-6 months of focused SAT preparation, including practice tests, strategy building, and consistent study of the math and verbal sections, to score 1500 on the SAT exam

Because the prices of these services vary widely, it's hard to determine the average cost of SAT prep courses. But in general, you can expect to spend somewhere between $50 and $2,000 preparing for the SAT, depending on the option you choose

So, to recap, compared to all test-takers:

ACT score of 24+ = top 25% ACT score of 29+ = top 10% ACT of 31+ = top 5% ACT score of 35+ = top 1% of test-takers

A 35 ACT is virtually top of the class – it puts you around the 99th percentile. Official concordance tables place a 35 ACT at roughly a 1540 SAT score (out of 1600), with a typical range around 1530–1560. In other words, you'd need only a handful more points to hit the highest SAT scores.

Yes, a 1450 is an excellent SAT score, putting you in the top 3% of test-takers and making you competitive for admission at a vast number of colleges. While it is competitive for many selective schools, top-tier institutions may require higher scores, so your score's effectiveness depends on your target university.

One of the only reasons to consider retaking the SAT would be if you're interested in attending institutions that are very selective or in the Ivy League. While a 1400 makes you eligible to apply to places such as Harvard, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania, it won't make you a competitive candidate.

An SAT score in the range of 1530-1600 is considered in the top 1% of test-takers. This means you have performed as well as or better than 99% of other students on the exam. While the 1600 is a perfect score, any score in this range is exceptional.

1530 and above: Places you in the 99th percentile, which is the top 1%.

1530–1560: Specifically, the 99th percentile score range is often cited as 1530-1560.

1570–1600: A score in this range is often grouped into the "99+" percentile, indicating performance at the very highest level.
